    Description

    Wonderful souvenir Horseshoe, about 2 1/2"x2", from the majesty White Mountains in New Hampshire, the natural rock formation The Old Man in the Mountains which unfortunately fell in 2003 quickly in the night.  The Old Man was first noticed by a surveying crew  who were the first white settlers in 1805 in Franconia.
    I don't know much about metal so if this is bronze, copper or a heavy coating I don't know, it looks like it has been scrapped on the sides to see if a pot metal underneath but to me the metal or metal combination look like the top and a magnet does not attach to it.  It is in excellent condition, no breaks and no rust.  It is very detailed, impressive and nostalgic. I visited the site every summer when young and it is time to let things go to people who will love them.
