Vintage Burgundy Red Wool Embroidered Passementerie Patchwork Cocoon Coat
This vintage Gallery of Wearable Art red wool embroidered passementerie patchwork cocoon coat dates from the 1980s. It is created from a patchwork variety of 19th century antique fabrics and trims, with a dark red burgundy color felted wool fabric, pink and white passementerie soutache raised braided embroidered trim accents and red velvet gold metallic thread outlined appliques. This amazing artistic coat has a loose fitting cocoon wrap style with an open front, no closure, long full sleeves, embroidered scalloped trim edging, is a long length, fully lined with inside pockets and "The Gallery of Wearable Art New York City" designer label. The coat is a large size measuring 41 inches long, with a 52 inch chest, 52 inch waist, 23 inch long sleeves and a 22 inch back. It is in good condition, with only a few faint small stains on the bottom back hem and a couple of tiny moth hole nips which are difficult to see. This is truly a unique one of a kind custom handmade piece of wearable art!
