Untitled DocumentVictorian Black Mohair Passementerie Double Breasted Short Spencer Bolero Jacket
This vintage Victorian era black mohair passementerie double breasted short spencer bolero jacket dates from 1890. It is made of a black mohair wool fabric, with black braided rope trim edging and raised soutache passementerie appliqued details around the lapel collar, sleeve cuffs. This beautiful black short crop coat spencer style bolero jacket bodice has a fitted tailored style coming to a longer point in the front, shorter in the back, with a fold over wide lapel collar, gathered shoulders, long tapered sleeves, double breasted with black crochet button closures and is fully lined in a black silk taffeta fabric with stays, boning sewn inside. The jacket measures 20 inches long in the front, 13 inches long in the back, with a 34 inch bust, 28 inch wait, 23 inch long sleeve and 10 inch back. It is in good as-is condition, with a tiny moth hole on one sleeve and some fade discoloration on the back, sleeves (see close-ups). This is truly a wonderful piece of antique Victoriana wearable art!
