    Description

These bags just scream Steampunk all over them. The various belt bags are all Steampunk themed and all of them are made from 4-7oz vegetable tanned (veg-tanned) cow hide leather that has been dyed various colors using special dye designed for leather products. (see specific bag photos) Also all the bags in this listing were completely hand made from cutting them out to stitching all the various parts together using waxed heavy weight thread of various colors. (see specific photos) All hand stitching was done using a two needle saddle stitch method, which insures that the seams will hold up for the life of each item.  In addition to the stitching, the bags feature either metal Sam Brown buttons, swing clasp, or turn clasp, for closing the flaps of each bag. Both the swing and turn clasps are attached to their respective bags using metal rivets which in most cases match the closures used for that bag. Some of the bags (see specific details below as well as photos), may include metal steampunk themed conchos, while others may have been hand carved and tooled with various steampunk related designs. All of these leather bags are designed to be worn from a belt and will either have specific belt loops riveted on the back, or have slots cut into the back allowing a belt to be passed through the back of the bag. (see the specific bag descriptions below as well as the specific bag photos) All the specific bag descriptions found below are specific for each separate bag and should not only contain a brief description for the bag, but should also list the general size of each bag. All measurements are approximat and as close as possible. Each item that is pictured is the item that will be received. Each of the Steampunk themed listed bags here are one of a kind, and none of them are exactly alike. These various Steampunk themed belt bags are intended for use as accessories to complete a Steampunk costume for either Cosplay, LARP, SCA, or just for  mascaraed use. All items are for entertainment purposes. All bags below come with free basic shipping through  USPS first class package, or FedEx Home delivery which ever is the most affordable. The buyer will always have the option to purchase expedited shipping at their expense. For further information on shipping charges and return policy please see below. I make leather because #1 I fell in love with the smell and feel of genuine leather. I also enjoy creating beautiful items from hand. Its an art and it gives me something to occupy my mind and time. I became disabled back in 2015 from an accident and this is what I do nowdays to keep me busy, while hopefully making a few sales to help my family to get buy.  Now sit back and check out the beautiful items that I have made for your viewing pleasure. My sincerest thanks for looking at, and hopefully considering purchasing my item.

Small bag Sam Brown Button w/ bottles; This small leather bag has been dyed saddle tan brown using water based leather dye. It was assembled from 5 pieces of  4-1/2oz veg-tanned leather. The main body of the belt bag is all one piece which has been hand stitched together with waxed white heavy thread designed for leather use, using a two needle saddle stitch for strength. The front of the bag has been adorned with a rectangular plate of leather attached using domed antique bronze metal rivets. Also attached to this plate of leather is a narrow strap holding down two small glass bottles with real cork stoppers. The bottles may be filled with any substance the buyer should choose. The buyer is invited to use their imagination when filling the glass vials. On the back of this belt bag are the two small 2-3/8" straps riveted in place using two textured antique brass metal rivets on each strap. These straps allow the bag to be hung from any belt up to 1-1/2" wide. The flap of this bag is held closed using a "Sam Brown button", which is a metal stud that has a large head with a narrow neck. The button  is held to the leather with a slotted screw on the inside of the bag. The button works by pushing it through the slotted hole in the flap until the flap slips over the head of the button and rests around the neck of the button. The bag is 3-1/4" wide, 4-1/8"tall, and 1-34" thick. The bag can be used to hold a wide variety of items. I think it would easily hold a pack of cigarettes, mp3 player, or can be used to hold change and cash. Whatever you can fit inside can be carried.
Small bag swing clasp w/conchos A: The original description of this bag on the pattern said "Steampunk Bandolier", which implies it was supposed to be used to hold ammo cartridges.
This Steampunk themed leather bandolier is made using 3 pieces of 4-5oz veg-tanned leather.
There is the main leather body which makes up the front, bottom, back, top, and front flap, and the other two pieces are the two side gussets. These gussets are hand stitched to the main body of leather as described above. The leather bandolier is held to the wearers belt by the two slots cut into the back of the main body. These slots allow the wearer to simply pass their belt through the slots, thereby holding the bandolier to the belt. The bandolier will fit up to a 2" wide belt. This Steampunk themed leather bandolier features the following features; first, it has a metal antique nickel two piece swing clasp affixed to the bag using 4 matching antique nickel rivets.(see photos) Secondly the bag is adorned with antique nickel, brass, and bronze metal steampunk gear conchos. The 2 gear concho has been riveted to the front portion of the bandolier using matching antique nickel rivets. The antique nickel single gear concho, is affixed to the front of the bandolier using a screw passed through the leather from the backside. I used medium strength thread locker on the concho screw to insure that it stays attached,. However should the need arise the screw can be removed from the concho. Third, the front flap of the bandolier has been hand tooled using various steampunk inspired gear shaped metal tooling stamps applied in a random pattern. In addition, I hand stamped a camouflage boarder around the flap just inside of the decorative antique nickel rivets. Lastly the front flap of the bandolier has been adorned with a border of antique nickel rivets which travel up and over the top of the bag flap just to the start of the gusset stitching. With all these complimenting steampunk themed decorations, this bandolier just screams "steampunk gear"! The steampunk bandolier can be used to carry just about anything imaginable that will fit inside. The bandolier is 3-3/4" wide, 4-1/2"tall, and 1-1/2"deep at the base. The side gussets look tapered from the side view when the bandolier is closed and empty. (as seen in the detail photos) However, the side gussets are the same depth at the top as they are at the base.
Small bag swing clasp w/conchos B: This bandolier is almost the same as "A" with just a few exceptions. First, it has a antique brass colored swing clasp with matching textured rivets. Second, it has two riveted steampunk gear conchos on the front of the bandolier. One of the conchos is a double gear, and the second one is a 3 gear concho. These two conchos are done in antique nickel, brass, and bronze colors. The front flap of this bandolier is also randomly tooled with steampunk gear stamps, as well as the same camouflage border inside of the row of rivets. The rivets that are spaced around the front flap of the bandolier are antique brass which match the swing clasp. Lastly, the waxed thread used to sew the gussets to the main body was brown in color. Everything else about this bandolier is the same as bandolier "A". The bandolier is 3-3/4" wide, 4-1/2" tall, and 1-1/2" deep at the base of the bandolier.
The side gussets look tapered from the side view when the bandolier is closed and empty. (as seen in the detail photos) However, the side gussets are the same depth at the top as they are at the base.
Small bag swing clasp w/conchos C: This is the last of the 3 bandoliers of this style. As with the first two most everything is the same except for the following items. This bandolier has the same antique brass swing clasp, rivets, tooled steampunk stamping, camouflage border stamping, and steampunk gear conchos. However the two gear conchos are transposed in their positions on the front of the bandolier. The only other difference is that I used black colored waxed thread to sew the two gussets to the main body of the bandolier. This bandolier is 3-3/4" wide, 4-1/2" tall, and 1-1/2" deep at the base of the bandolier.
The side gussets look tapered from the side view when the bandolier is closed and empty. (as seen in the detail photos) However, the side gussets are the same depth at the top as they are at the base.
Medium turn clasp round A: This medium sized round bottom steampunk themed belt bag is a great looking piece of steampunk gear. This bag is made from only 4 pieces of 5-7oz veg-tanned leather that I dyed using an oil based wheat colored leather dye. The strangest thing is that for some reason the back, top, front flap piece of leather ended up darker then the front, gusset pieces, and belt loop. This happened from using the antique gel dye over the gear design to bring out the deeper background impressions. When this leather turned darker from the antique gel I went ahead and used the gel on the rest of the back piece so it would all turn out the same color. However the finished product came out two toned and looks really great. Sometimes its the little mistakes that turn out to be the great inspirations. The best feature of the bag has to be the custom carved and tooled steampunk gear design that I tooled into the front flap of the bag. This design features multiple gears intermeshed with raised spokes and sprockets. Also the design has coarse background tooling inside of the gears, while outside of the gears is a moonscape background stamped boarder. I also stamped an alternating boarder pattern around the outer edge of the front piece of the bag. The front flap of the bag is held closed using a unique metal antique brass colored turn clasp which looks like an old fashioned round combination lock. When you lay the top and bottom pieces of the clasp together, and then turn the male portion of the turn clasp it locks the two pieces together. Then to un-lock the turn clasp, just turn the male part once again and the two pieces come apart allowing you to open the bag. I used black waxed thread to stitch the one piece gusset to the front and back pieces of this bag. The black thread shows up and looks great against the lighter wheat colored front piece of leather which forms the front of the bag. Also the back of the bag features a belt loop to attach the bag to the wearers belt. This loop is 2-3/8" wide, and will take a belt that is up to 2-3/8" wide. No I didn't plan for it to come out 2-3/8" x 2-3/8". It just happened.  Because its a somewhat partially round bag its difficult to give exact measurements, however I will give you the best description that I can of the size. The bag is 6-7/8" across measured at the point where the two rivets are located that hold the top "flap" portion of the turn clasp, 6-1/2" tall measured from top to bottom at the centerline of the bag across the turn clasp with the bag closed, and 2" deep measured empty from front to back. As this steampunk themed bag is fairly large it could easily be used to accessorize your steampunk costume as either a purse for women, or as a belt pouch for men. Please check out the pictures of this bag as it really is a nice bag and has steampunk written all over it.
Medium turn clasp round B: This steampunk themed belt bag is the exact same size and design as bag "A" however the turn clasp and matching rivets are antique nickel colored. Also I used white waxed thread to sew the gusset into the bag. This white thread shows up nicely in contrast against the darker color of the brown stain. In addition I hand tooled and stamped a very cool steampunk gear heart into the front flap. It also has some boarder tooling inside of the gears of the heart, however I did not stamp any boarder around the heart. This left the rest of the flap smooth even leather as well as portions of the heart were left natural. Instead of using an oil dye as with the other bag, I used a water stain to dye this bag. The color was brown, and I used a chestnut colored antique gel to bring out the recesses of the tooled heart. This also slightly darkened the flap piece of leather, however as the main leather stain was darker it was not as obvious as with the wheat dye. I also stamped a steampunk theme into the boarder around the front piece. The size of this bag is exactly the same as its sister bag "A", however I will list again for your information. The bag is 6-7/8" across measured midline from side to side at the rivet line of the clasp top, 6-1/2" tall at center line from tip to bottom measured at the center line across the clasp, and 2" deep from front to back. The belt loop is also the same size of 2-3/8" wide and will accept belts up to 2-3/8" wide.
Medium turn clasp square: This steampunk themed belt bag is a bit different from the first two. The bag is also made from 4 pieces of 4-6oz veg-tanned leather, but instead of a front and back with a single piece gusset, this bag is made with a single piece of leather for the front, bottom, back, top, and front flap. I dyed this entire bag with dark brown water stain leather dye.  It uses two gussets one on  each side instead of a single one the wraps around. It also uses the same 2-3/8: wide belt loop sewn to the back of the bag. This bag is a cousin to the round bags and it is of a square design and is not tooled and stamped like the others. Although this bag also uses the same antique nickel pad lock style turn clasp, the rest of the bag is different. The two gussets on this bag were sewn in using brown waxed thread instead of white or black. I did do some leather stamping to this bag in the form of a rope and gear boarder around the entire outer edge of the main body. Because I used a fairly dark water stain it soaked into all the stamping impressions and left them looking almost black which made them stand out. I then added 3 steampunk gear conchos to the front flap on this bag. I used one of the 2 gear antique nickel, brass, and bronze, one 3 gear antique nickel, brass, and bronze  rivet on conchos, and one single gear antique nickel screw on concho. The finished leather bag is very nice looking. Sometimes simple is better as with the smooth surface to the leather without any extensive tooling. Again as this is a nicely sized belt bag it would work for either a women's belt purse, or a man's belt bag. It has plenty of room to hold wallet, phone, keys and some cash for an evenings outing. This bag looks nice enough you could use it for an everyday bag or accessorize your steampunk costume. The bag measures 6" wide, 6" tall, 1-3/4" deep, and will also accept up to a 2-3/8" wide belt.
Medium Sam Brown button round: This is a nice simple steampunk style belt bag that is a no frills affair. This bag is made from 8 pieces of veg-tanned 6-7oz leather that has been dyed saddle tan brown using dye specially designed for leather use. This bag is fairly straight forwards and have no tooling, stamping, or conchos of any king. The shear simplicity of this belt bag is what makes it so special. The bag was made with
    heavy duty
white waxed thread and using a two needle saddle stitch for strength and durability. The seams on this bag will easily last the lifetime of the item when used in the fashion it was designed. Since this is a very simple and basic bag in nature it can be used for daily use. The bag has a one piece gusset which wraps around from one side to the other and is stitched front and back. The front and back are basically the same size and there is a top flap stitched to the top of the back piece. The top flap has a decorative fastening flap stitched on top of the front bottom edge of the flap and acts as a doubler as well as the closing flap. This closing flap has a slotted hole in the very end which when pushed onto a Sam Brown button will securely hold the flap into place. For strength and a little extra looks, the doubler flap is not only stitched to the top flap but on each end of the stitch line it has a textured antique brass rivet, which not only looks nice but also adds a lot of extra strength to the closing flap. The front of the bag also has a flap hold down strap which is riveted onto the front piece of the bag. The closing flap is fed under this lap and then pushed onto the Sam Brown button. With this configuration the strap can never accidentally come loose. On the top back of the bag back piece there are two narrow leather straps that server as belt loops, or as hanging straps depending on how one wishes to wear this bag. If worn from a belt they will only accept belts up to 1-1/2" wide. However the way these hanging loops were made (see photos) you could suspend the bag from two hanging clips attached to the top of the hanging straps. The bag is big enough to serve either as a women's day purse, or as a man's day bag holding wallet, cell phone, cash, and even the car keys. The bag measures 6-1/4" wide (measured across the rivets on the closer strap), 6-1/2" tall (measured at center line from top to bottom across the Same Brown button), and 1-7/8" deep measured at side.
Medium Sam Brown button round Blem: This steampunk themed bag is exactly the same as the one above. However the item name says it all "Blem". The reason that this bag is a blem is because as you can see in the photos on the front of the bag to the right of the Sam Brown button there is a short black line on the finish. I have no idea how, why, or when this line got onto this bag. My loss is someone's gain as I will not sell this a perfectly new item. I also don't feel like trying to remove the black line and in the process doing more damage to the finish then if I left it alone. So if you don't mind the small blemish as seen in the photo's then grab it while you can. Again this bag is exactly the same as the one above, it just has a dark line on the front. Enough said, grab this bag and save some money.
Large Sam Brown button round Blue: This is the big brother or sister to the preceding two smaller bags. This bag was dyed using a water based midnight blue leather dye and finished with a couple of finish coats of Resolene acrylic finish coat. This bag has the same number of pieces (8) that the smaller ones have. The front and back pieces are about the same size, with a single long gusset that runs from both top ends of the bag. I stitched the gusset into the bag with white heavy duty waxed thread and a two needle saddle stitch for strength and durability for the seams.  The top flap piece is stitched to the upper edge of the back piece and lays over the top and down the front with a doubler piece that servers as a flap-closer. This flap-closer piece has a slotted hole in the end which is designed to be pushed down over and onto a Sam Brown button, which is securely screwed to the front piece of the bag. Just above the Sam Brown button about 1" there is a small closer strap which is riveted to the front piece of the bag. This closer strap is what holds down the flap-closer doubler that is stitched and riveted to the top flap piece. The only thing that is "dressed" up on this bag is the fancy antique nickel star rivets that I used for the closer strap, belt loops, and flap-closer doubler. These star rivets just give the bag a nice finished look. Otherwise the bag is simple looking and a deep blue color. The white thread stands out in a nice contrast against the midnight blue. This bag is about twice the size of the smaller medium bag and although it could be used as a daily wear bag it may be a bit to big for that purpose. As this bag has multi use belt loops riveted to the back one could rig up backpack harness for this bag. Women could easily make a nice purse out of it by attaching a strap to the belt loop/hanging loops. The possibilities for the use of this bag are unlimited and only limited by ones imagination. The bag measures 7-5/8" wide (measured from side to side at the closer strap location), 8-1/2" tall (measured at center line from top to bottom across the Sam Brown button), and 2-1/2" wide from the side. The belt loops will accept a 1-3/4" wide belt.
Large Sam Brown button round Saddle Tan: This steampunk belt bag is exactly like the blue one above with only three exceptions. The first difference is that I dyed the leather using water based saddle tan brown leather dye. The second thing is that I stitched the bag together using black heavy duty waxed thread. Lastly I used antique nickel metal rivets to reinforce the flap-closer doubler, closer strap, and the belt loops on the back. All other details are the same including the size.
Hip Bag X Pattern: This is my last and final steampunk theme inspired belt bag. There are over 18 pieces in this bag not counting the rivets. There is the front, back, 3 piece gusset, 2 x straps, strap shield, shield corner doublers, 2 belt loops, and the 2 belt loop mounts. This bag is almost the same as the leather hip bag that I mad for myself some time back. The bag is made from 6-7oz veg-tanned leather that was dyed using saddle tan brown water stain dye, with some medium brown contrast pieces. I dyed the two X straps, the strap shield, the 3 gusset pieces, and the belt loop assembly. This is a really unique style of belt bag which not only looks great but is every bit as useful. The bags gusset pieces uses a special V stitch pattern to sew the 3 piece gusset together for the middle sections, and then a 2 needle saddle stitch for the two ends to the front and back piece. This 3 piece gusset gives the bags center section a lot of flexibility, and in conjunction with the special V stitching adds strength where it's needed. I went with black heavy duty waxed leather thread, and used a 2 needle saddle stitch everywhere except for the center gusset section which got the V stitch. The top front flap piece is stitched to the top edge of the back piece. The front and back pieces are saddle stitched to the 3 piece center gusset. The belt loops are only looped through the back belt loop holder assemblies. The belt loop holders are themselves stitched to the upper bac piece of the bag. The belt loops are each one long piece of leather strap which is riveted together with a single rivet. The belt loops will accept up to a 2" belt. The front flap has the 2 x straps stitched to it in a X pattern, over top of this is the strap shield and corner doublers. The shield and corner doublers are attached with large rivets on each corner. Not only does this provide an extremely strong closer strap assembly, but it also gives the top front flap a 3 D look giving the bag depth. The front flap is held securely with the 2 X straps which are held to the main bag with two Sam Brown buttons, one on each strap. This bag is very stylish and will look good hanging from anyone's belt. With the 6-7oz leather for overall strength and longevity, to the large reinforcement rivets, to the two Sam Brown buttons for closing the flap, and most especially the 3 piece gusset with center V stitched sections. This bag is not only functional and durable, but its also a piece of art just to own. This would be a great touring bag for a motorcyclist. The bag is between a medium and large and I know that it will fit a large frame cell phone as well as a wallet and a ring of keys. Just add some cash and change and its the perfect belt bag for the modern person. I say modern person as today there is such a small gender divide as both men and women are sharing so many styles. The bag measures 6-1/2" wide (measured from side to side at center rivets of X strap shield), 7-7/8" tall (measured from top to bottom across rivets at center line of shield), and lastly 2-3/8" deep.
