Description

This faboo early '50's jacket is a major wardrobe enhancer. Very Reporter Lois Lane at The Daily Planet!  There's just enough classy sparkle on the collar to make this
stunning jacket a perfect choice to meet Superman for Happy Hour.
Eye-catching design in an interesting shade of mustard-gold wool with matching silk lining.
The collar is accented with bows on both sides.  Small rhinestones and tiny bronze beads placed on a diagonal bring the bling!
This jacket was created by designer Paul Parnes who was known for high-quality fashion.  [Read below:]
Paul Parnes
dress company was formed in 1931 by Paul Parnes and his brother, Edward Parnes. The two came from a dress manufacturing family. Their father, Louis Parnes, first began making clothing in Manhattan in 1895.
Paul Parnes started his own operation in 1922. In 1927 he formed a partnership called Sadowsky, Lang and Parnes. The name was later changed to Mary Lee and was eventually bought by well-known designer Adele Simpson, who had been creating the line.
In 1931, Parnes left Mary Lee to form his namesake company -- manufacturing “better” dresses. In 1964 the company brought out a lower-cost line, Paul Parnes, Ltd.
Note that the label on this jacket reads "Paul Parnes" showing that it's

A second neckline label reads: "Harzfeld's.  Kansas City" which was an upscale store in that city.

"Secret Closet Vintage" is my personal closet where I've been stashin' fashion since the 1970's.  I've never sold anything from this faboo, rarely-worn collection before.  But I've decided that it’s finally time to pass on these great finds for others to appreciate and cherish as I have.
This collection comes from a pet-free, smoke-free environment and everything has been professionally dry-cleaned before shipping.
Be aware that any obvious flaw in an item is noted & photographed. Athough many of my offerings are in remarkable condition, pieces from the 40's, 50's & '60's
can
show signs of wear consistent with age. That's part of the patina & charm of vintage!
