Description
For auction is a bond certificate from the Russian Peasants' Land Bank dated 1912; it is for 150 rubles and paid 4 1/2 % interest. The Bank was established in 1883, under the reign of Czar Alexander III, to assists farmers in purchasing their lands. The bank, which had extended into Poland and had over 3 dozen branches, was seized and nationalized when the Communist party took over Russia in 1919, rendering the bond worthless. This bond measures appx 16x10 inches and is printed on mid-weight paperstock.
